Thief jumps off escalator while trying to flee police

555 MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH: Marcel Wallace was caught by Dayton Mall security attempting to change price tags at a Macy's with the help of his sister Jessica Wallace, a cashier. He attempted to flee and dived over the side of an escalator after being approached by a Miami Township police officer, hitting his head on the ground. Wallace was treated at Kettering Hospital for his injuries. He was charged with theft and obstructing official business while his sister was charged with theft.
