Deaf driver crashes car into 7-Eleven

555 Keizer, OR - A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a deaf, unlicensed, first-time driver plowed into a Keizer 7-Eleven Friday morning, according to police. No one was injured. At about 11 a.m., the SUV crashed through the front door of the convenience store, at 4380 River Rd. N. Surveillance video shows the shock of the crash. The driver, 22-year-old Cindy Rosas Ortega, is deaf and had never driven a car before, according to Deputy Chief Jeffrey Kuhns of Keizer police. A passenger, 27-year-old Johana Gomez Ortega, told officers she was notable to tell Rosas Ortega how to stop the SUV before it crashed. Rosas Ortega was cited for driving without a license and Gomez Ortega was cited for providing a vehicle to an unlicensed driver.
