Woman Spanked During Brooklyn Rape Attempt

555 Brooklyn, NY - Police have released chilling surveillance footage early Monday morning of an attempted rape near Prospect Park the night before. The sex attack took place outside 586 16th St. - near Prospect Park West, in a relatively safe and peaceful corner of the neighborhood - around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD). A 34-year-old woman was walking down 16th Street, police said in a news release, "when an unknown individual approached from her from behind, grabbed her and proceeded lifting her dress and pulling at her underwear." "He then knocked the victim to the ground," police said, "and struck her numerous times about the body attempting to sexually assault her. The victim kicked at the subject until he became frustrated and fled on 16th Street."
