Chile: Nailed it! New safety gloves to avoid smashed fingers

555 Inventor Jorge Sgombich presented his award-winning safety gloves that are alleged to protect the hands from serious work-related injuries, in Santiago on Friday. Dubbed AB5 Safety Glove Mark VIII, the gloves are a modification of common safety work gloves, with an added protection for the finger tips, Sgombich explained. Commenting on the fields of application for the gloves, Sgombich stated that the scope ranges "from maintenance and operation to entire industries such as mining, forestry and the fishing industry. They can even be used for domestic activities in general, for any activity where there is a degree of exposure to an accident involving the hands."
