Dashcam Video of High Speed Police Chase That Ends in Crash

555 Edmond, OK - A police pursuit Sunday afternoon in Edmond has ended in a crash. The chase started after police responded to a report of a theft at a Walmart. Officers found a vehicle matching the description of the one two suspects left the store in and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle sped off, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph, and ran through stop signs and red lights. The driver lost control of the fleeing vehicle and it crashed head-on into another vehicle. Derek Lamont Benjamin, 25, was arrested for obstruction of a police officer, petty larceny, felony attempting to elude, as well as arrested for an outstanding warrant for burglary out of Oklahoma County. Shawn Deontra Bruner, 27, was arrested for obstruction of a police officer and petty larceny. According to court documents, Benjamin had only been out on bond for about five days before Sunday's pursuit.
