Man Attacks Muslim Woman with a Packet of Bacon [No Audio]

555 A man who abused two Muslim women before striking one of them in the face with a packet of bacon has been jailed after admitting to religiously/racially aggravated assault. Alex Chivers, 36 of Bryanstone Rd, Waltham Cross was sentenced at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 29 June to 26 weeks imprisonment for the assault and 12 weeks imprisonment for a public order offense - to run concurrently. He was also ordered to pay a lb115 victim surcharge and will complete a 12-month supervision order when he is released on license. The offence occurred at 16:40hrs on Thursday, 8 June in Hertford Road, Enfield. The victim, who is a Muslim in her teens, was walking with her mother when she was approached by Chivers. Chivers made abusive, Islamophobic comments, calling her, "Isil scum" and shouting "you deserve this". - Credit: Metropolitan Police
