Video Shows Auto Theft Suspects Captured After Police Chase

555 Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy Coates responded to the 1600th block of SE 169th Terrace Road, in reference to an auto theft that just occurred. The victim advised his 2013 Chrysler Minivan was just stolen. Deputy Witte observed the vehicle in the area of Ocklawaha and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Air1, K9, and other units responded to assist in perimeter as the vehicle traveled back to the area of the Forest. As the vehicle was traveling west on Highway 40 Deputy Cranston deployed stop sticks. The stop sticks were successful but the vehicle continued south on South Highway 314A. Deputy Donely then performed a successful PIT maneuver on the vehicle, causing it to stop. The defendants all fled from the vehicle but the new Air 1 helicopter was overhead and units were able to take the four defendants into custody.
