China stabbings: Seven dead and 19 wounded in Shaanxi attack

555 At least seven schoolchildren have been stabbed to death and 19 injured in a knife attack in northern China. The attack took place this afternoon (April 27) near a secondary school in Mizhi County, Shaanxi Province, at 18:10 local time. Eyewitness video shows bloodied students lying on the ground and the suspect being taken away. A number of knife attacks have taken place in China in recent years. In a March 2015 attack at Kunming station, 29 people were killed and more than 100 wounded.
