Bodycam footage of altercation between Champaign police, Alton Corey - Lawsuit filed against two police officers

555 Champaign IL -The city's legal and police departments are reviewing a lawsuit filed by a resident. October 17, 2017, Alton Corey was arrested after police responded to the 1500-block of Kiler Driver for a report of a battery. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, attorneys for Corey filed a lawsuit against the city, and police officers William Killin and Dillon Holloway. Allegations in the lawsuit include excessive use of force, false arrest, malicious prosecution and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Corey's attorneys claim the 62-year old African-American was recovering at home from a heart procedure when the two officers eventually forced their way into his home and physically harmed him. City officials made all pertinent documents available on its website according to the Freedom of Information Act request from area media and in keeping with the city's commitment to transparency.
