5-Year-Old Dies During Rescue After Canoe Tips in Flooded River

555 A five-yr-old has died of drowning in the Rock River after her mom takes her and her 3 children out on a canoe on a flooded river. Something in this story doesn't add up. She says she's canoed there before, but had no clue there was a steel dam there. Rescue crews managed to save the mom and her two boys, but the daughter was just found in the Mississippi about 10 miles away. It's tragic, but the mom should be charged with at least child neglect. She told the newspaper that she gave the child CPR 3 times on a log, thus reviving her. And she claimed the -yr-old5 yelled, 'Why haven't they saved us yet?' and 'I'm too young to die!'
