3.5kg hairball removed from 12y/o girl's stomach *GRAPHIC*

555 A 12-year-old girl underwent a surgical operation to remove 3.5kg (7.7lbs) of hair from her stomach in Mangystau Region on Friday, 13 July. The girl had made a habit of eating her hair which led to the accumulation in her gastrointestinal tract. She lost weight and her appetite while the belly continued to grow, prompting concern. According to the surgeon the operation went well and it was only the second time he had witnessed such severe case in his 30 years as a medical professional.
