Body Cam video of a May 10th, 2019 event where officers were dispatched to an active shooter

555 The Tulsa Police Department released body cam video of the deadly officer-involved shooting on May 10 that began at the CiCi's pizza and ended on Interstate 44. Police say that officers were dispatched to an active shooter around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 4800 South Peoria Avenue May 10. The suspect, Derrec Shaw, left his residence earlier in the evening acting erratic and strange, according to TPD. Shaw went to the CiCi's Pizza and pointed a gun at a man driving a black car, police say. The first victim walked out of CiCi's to make a phone call, and Shaw turned and fired at him three times, striking the victim once in the shoulder. Shaw then walked a few doors down to the China Wok. Video shows him erratic, throwing his hands and gun around spastically, then hiding in the foyer area. When the second victim opened the door, Shaw fired once, hitting him just below his lower lip, police say. Shaw then fled the scene and ran to a nearby hotel where he pointed the gun at the clerk and paced around in the lobby before leaving, according to TPD. As the first officer arrived, Shaw ran across Skelly and up onto I-44. Arriving officers were made aware of the active shooter status, and officers follow Shaw up the embankment. Multiple witnesses said Shaw was firing at cars as he was in the middle of traffic. The initial responding officer used his patrol rifle and fired twice, killing Shaw.
