Man says Arkansas police officer unnecessarily pulled gun during encounter

555 The Helena-West Helena Police Department is reviewing body cam footage after a man said an officer pulled a gun on for no reason early Sunday morning. Edrick Truitt said he was waiting to meet up with his family at a closed Double Quick store. He said that he was trying to leave when police showed up and asked everyone to clear the parking lot around 3 a.m. Truitt told WREG that he couldn't In the Facebook Live, the officer tells Truitt to turn off his car and yells "He's got a gun." That's when Truitt puts his hands outside of the vehicle. Truitt then refused to put his hands back into the car while the officer continued to ask him to turn the car off. "If I would have complied, I would have got killed," Truitt said.move because he was blockedin. He said that's when things began to escalate. "As we were leaving out, a car jumped in front of me, so I hit my brakes to let them go by," Truitt said. Truitt then went live on Facebook on his phone after an officer pulled out his gun, saying he was afraid of the situation.
