Officer rescuing kitten during rush hour after 911 call about cats dumped on interstate

555 A 911 call about cats dropped off on the interstate led to a rescue during rush hour on I-285. The Sandy Springs Police Department posted a video clip on its Facebook page where you can hear the caller speaking with the dispatcher about the scary situation as she drove down the interstate. "There's like three of them in the middle of the six lanes and one is stopping," the caller said. She told the dispatcher she was driving east near Georgia 400 when she spotted the kittens. "I know that's probably a non-emergency number thing but I just almost ran over one and it of freaked me out," she added. "There's like five kittens on the freeway right now," the caller told the dispatcher. The dashcam video shows the officer approaching one of the kittens, that was sitting in the center lane. Sandy Springs Police said K-9 Officer Hanse rescued pet and took the animal to a nearby veterinarian clinic. You can seen the officer place the animal in a bucket. The little kitten was promptly adopted. The status of the other kittens is unknown.
