Police arrest car theft suspects found hiding in swimming pool

555 Two suspects who stole a Ford Mustang from a Palm Coast dealership early this morning and fled from Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies were tracked down by Volusia County deputies who found them hiding in a residential swimming pool. Both suspects were arrested without incident around 5:45 a.m., after Volusia Sheriff's K-9 Endo found them in the pool at 310 West Lake Victoria Circle, DeLand. About an hour earlier, Flagler deputies had notified Volusia deputies of a stolen Mustang that fled from an attempted traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Flagler County. The Mustang entered Volusia and exited I-95 onto I-4, where Air One tracked it from the sky as units on the ground successfully deployed stop sticks at the State Road 44 overpass. The Mustang exited I-4 at Orange Camp Road, and the two occupants bailed out of the car shortly after that. They ran into the area of the Victoria Park subdivision, and deputies and DeLand Police Department officers set up a perimeter and began searching. After about a half-hour, Deputy Whitson and K-9 Endo found the suspects in the pool and ordered them to crawl out. The defendants are 19-year-old Hollins Mills and a 15-year-old male, both from Orlando, both charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. DeLand PD also charged both defendants with burglary.
